i mean from the beginning the bands didn’t even have notes for there songs, just pure feeling and the singer didnt have a mic to get out more feeling in his voice, things are changing all the time an as long it’s not go to far and u still you can tell its emo it’s no bigg deal imo.

Do people not realise that bands can change genres? FOB stopped being “emo” argueably with From Under The Cork Tree, or at least with Infinity on High. Emo is still emotive ********. If it sounds “too poppy” that’s because its not actually emo. We need a better fucking definition

sunny day real estate is more indie rock then emo… or thats what it seems like to me anyways. love those guys! they influence my more quiet stuff.
Nothing is wrong with emo music, If that is what you want to call it. I was not raggin on the music, I was raggin on the term “EMO”.
good song. a lot of new “emo” bands forget the ******** roots of the genre, and focus on self-hating miserableness. There are more emotions than the sad ones

Well this is what Emo sounded like back in the 90’s. It isn’t the first wave stuff that came out in DC back in the mid-eighties but SDRE has carried the Emo tag for a long time. It’s not a recent thing.

This Song was actually released in 1994 . considering that the band came out of seattle around the middle to end of the grunge era of the 90’s & were signed to grunge/rock label sub pop until they called it quits in 1995.Like Some of the previous posts i personally **** lumping good music into a particular genre just so someone can like it ie: i only listen to emo so i will call anything that sounds remotely like emo,EMO.I totally agree with joegochnour,Just listen to the music.
um this definitely is emo, which is a word that’s generally associated with terrible music, but back in the day emo was actually good, this song being a great example. it’s broken too far from its ******** roots (fugazi, rites of spring) and gotten much too poppy (fall out boy, etc).

I don´t think its too bad if guys sound like girls when they sing. Just as long as they can sing.
I like how they dont try to sound like girls, unlike every other band out there.
