Performed “Live at The Break Room” 1999.
Live is a live album by American emo band Sunny Day Real Estate. A set list from the How it Feels to Be Something On tour, it was released in 1999 on Sub Pop. Sunny Day Real Estate was apparently displeased with the outcome of the record. However, their label Sub Pop apparently did not run the record by the band before releasing it to the public. This record is allegedly the reason why Sunny Day Real Estate left Sub Pop for another label.
The core of Sunny Day Real Estate formed in 1992, originally under the name Empty Set. Empty Set consisted of Dan Hoerner (guitar, vocals), Nate Mendel (bass), and William Goldsmith (drums). They released a 7-inch, Flatland Spider, before a tumultuous period of musical chairs and name changes. In that timeframe, Mendel took a break to tour with another band, Hoerner took over the bass, and the group was joined by Jeremy Enigk, a high school friend of Goldsmith. Before long, Enigk ascended as the permanent frontman of the band. Where Hoerner’s vocal style had been in the rougher, ******** vein, Enigk’s higher-pitched, somewhat strained vocal style added greater emotional depth to the band’s songs. When Mendel returned, the complete band settled on the name Sunny Day Real Estate. They released another 7-inch, Thief, Steal Me a Peach in 1993.

Nice Vid. I enjoyed it. We market properties and other things on youtube, we hope to create a large network of people interested in making money. Your video gets a five star rating from us. I hope you feel the same about ours.
haha i am amazed what about first day of my life
A great song by an even better band.
Speaking of William sending things flying off, the second time I saw them during their How It Feels tour William sent a stick flying so far in the air, it nearly hit the top of the Moore Theater. The Moore Theater is freaking huge.
Of course, he just grabbed a strategically placed extra stick a split second later and didn’t miss a beat.
thanks a lot!! very impressed, and they’re definitely my new fav band

just kind of stumbled upon this band. i like ’song about an angel’ a lot, and was wondering what are some other songs that sound like it from these guys. seems like you know a bit about them. thanks
I wouldn’t say it’s their best, but I have always liked it. But I think its more of a nostalgic thing. When I saw them on the first reunited tour they did on How It Feels, they opened with it, and 30 seconds into it Will’s batter flew off his bass drum pedal and they had to stop the song and start over. They just joked about it and started it over and killed it. So I think it’s more of the memory of that, than the song itself.
Yeah I agree with you. Another one to skip, not on Rising Tide but on Diary would be The Blankets Were Stairs. I’ve just never really liked that song, which is weird because alot of people think that’s their best song.
Television. Not my thing. It’s not BAD… just if I was to skip a song on that record it would be that one.
sooo good… it’s just too hard to pick a good song, when (in my opinion) they only wrote 1 marginally-good song and the rest were masterpieces.
Great song, one of my favourites. Good quality too!
Omg, this wasn’t up here before. I am so happy right now.
